Daylight Donuts at the Way Station in York, Nebraska, has become a beloved local stop for fresh pastries, hot coffee and a warm sense of community.
Owners Ron and David Kretz, the father-son team running the shop, have created a welcoming space where families, friends and regulars gather to enjoy quality baked goods made fresh each morning.Â
Known for their wide selection of classic and specialty donuts, the shop also offers long johns, fritters, cinnamon rolls and seasonal treats. Guests can dine in, pick up an order to-go, or place advance orders through their online preorder system. Their mobile Donut Trailer, which travels to nearby towns, brings Daylight Donuts favorites to customers beyond York.Â

Ron brings a rich background to the business — he served in the U.S. Army after college and later spent more than two decades in ministry, including missionary work in Greece and time on staff at Sunset International Bible Institute in Texas.
David, a trained chef with experience ranging from Norwegian Cruise Lines to Cirque du Soleil, spent nine years overseeing the York University cafeteria before joining his father in this venture.
Together, they combine hospitality, skill and heart to create a place that feels like home to the York community.
