How did your business get started?

The Quilt Basket has a rich history here in York, Nebraska. In 1970, Lola Schall founded Countryside Fabrics, a fabric shop. She owned it for 37 years.

In 2007, we purchased the store from her and renamed it The Quilt Basket. Since then, we’ve expanded into what we are now — a quilt and fabric shop known for our warm customer service and expansive fabric selection.

What makes your store or service unique? 

Professional, knowledgeable, friendly staff and great selection of fabric, kits and quilting supplies. We also offer long-arm quilting and classes.

What do you love about being part of the local business community? 

It’s nice to see and be a part of a very active and alive downtown business community. Each business has a unique thing to offer and together we make a fantastic business community.

What makes shopping local great?  

Personal service and being able to feel and touch the products. We also love getting to know our customers on a personal level. 

What are your most popular products or services? 

We sell and service Bernina sewing machines. Whether you are a beginner or have been sewing/quilting for many years, we have so much to offer you. From classes, supplies, fabric, machines, machine service and repair to finishing your quilt with our long-arm quilting service, we are here to help.
