Athlete of the Week - Caleb Horne, Senior, Centennial

The Centennial Broncos boys basketball team lost its first game of the season back on Dec. 28 to Oakland-Craig in the Malcolm Holiday Tournament. The Broncos regrouped after the defeat and picked up two wins over the weekend, against Superior at home in Utica on Friday and against Heartland on the road in Henderson on Saturday – and senior Caleb Horne was a big reason why. Against Superior, Horne scored 27 points and shot an efficient 73 percent from the floor. Then against Heartland, Horne had a team-high 21 and was hot from behind the arc, going 5 of 5 from 3-point land. Horne is averaging 11.3 points and 4.6 rebounds as Class C-2 No. 8 Centennial (9-1) heads into Friday’s matchup at No. 5 Sutton (6-2).
