Tue., June 30
• The first Henderson Farmers Market, a weekly market, has been scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 5-7 p.m., in the Henderson Downtown Park, beginning June 30. This is an opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods and other items.
June 28 - July 1
• The York Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Midway Madness, featuring the carnival by Richard’s Amusements, will be in York between June 28 and July 1. It will again be located in the parking lot west of the city auditorium. Coupons for discounted tickets are available at many locations in York, including at the chamber office.
Sunday, July 5
• Family Fun Night will be held in McCool Jct. starting at 5 p.m., at the Northside Park. A dinner special will be available, family games will be played, there will be entertainment and free watermelon donated by Real Cattle Farms. There will be fireworks at dusk.
Monday, July 6
• Home Care Plus will be holding Summer Immunization Clinics at the West View Medical Building. Immunizations are available to all children ages 0-18. A $12 free will donation (per child) is requested, but not required. To make an appointment call 362-2566. All Kindergarten, 7th grade boosters and college entrance immunizations are available. The next clinic will be held from 1 – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, July 7
• The first Farmers Market will be held from 5-7 p.m., in front of the Family Market in Fairmont. Contact Wanda at 268-6081 or Holly at 268-2211. The markets will continue on Tuesday evenings.
July 8-14
• The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be in Geneva July 8-14. The Wall will arrive at approximately 5:30 p.m., where it will be escorted into town. A hamburger feed will be held that night, July 8, for the escorts. On July 9, starting at 8 a.m., the Wall will be raised and a program will be held at 9:30 a.m. The Wall will be open to the public until 7:30 p.m. each day. On July 10, the program will be held at 7:30 a.m. – that day there will be a meal served at the VFW Post. On July 11, the program will be at 4 p.m., and will include a number of speakers, including Governor Dave Heineman, Director of Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs John Hilgert and a Vietnam veteran whose name has not been released. The program on July 12 will start at 7:30 a.m., as it will on July 13.
July 10-12

Friday, July 10
• “Movie Night” will be at the town hall in McCool Jct. at 7 p.m. A freewill donation of canned goods will be accepted. The donations will go to the York County Food Pantry.
Saturday, July 11
• The York Senior Center will be hosting a “Crafts and Treasures Show” from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is an event for seniors to sell their creations or treasures, as well as an opportunity for the senior community to see what other seniors have to sell. There are no restrictions on the items except that no tobacco or alcohol products will be allowed. Vendors must be 55 or older, but may be accompanied by younger people. Vendor set-up will be from 8-9 a.m., the morning of the show.
• The Gresham Firemen’s Picnic will be Saturday, July 11. Activities will include the Library Fun Run, horseshoe tournament, co-ed softball tournament, kiddie parade, noon lunch stand, bike around town, grand parade, evening barbecue, live band and beer garden.
• The Waco Volunteer Fire Department will have its first annual poker run on Saturday, July 11. For more information, contact Travis Wellman at 366-5085.
• The Henderson Community Days 3rd Annual HHCS Junior Auxiliary Jaunt 5K/10K run will begin at 7:30 a.m. The 1 mile fun run/walk begins 8:45 a.m. Pre-register by July 3. The cost is $15 or $20 the day of the event. Contact kgoertzen@mainstaycomm.net with any questions.

• The Fillmore County Garden Club will host a garden tour in Geneva on July 12, from 1-5 p.m. There will be six gardens on the tour. Admission will be $5 with all the proceeds to go toward the plantings for the Cumberland Mini Park at Ninth and C Street.
Saturday, July 18
• York’s Annual Sidewalk Sales will be held on Saturday, July 18.
• The Waco Western Days will be held July 18.
• A sanctioned kids’ tractor pull will be held at 11 a.m. in Waco.
July 25-26
• The Old Settlers Picnic will be Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26 with events beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Friday, July 31
• York General Health Care Services Auxiliary will be hosting their 8th Annual Auxiliary Charity Golf Tournament at the York Country Club. Proceeds will go to help fund a new Pediatric Sensory Room at York General Rehab Services.
